What is this?
We started this blog at Calvary Moravian Church in Allentown, PA in the middle of March, 2020, during what was called a 2 week closure of all non-essential activities due to the coronavirus. Then we didn’t know much more and many of us imagined that we would soon be back to “life as normal.” Yet even in this unknown – and still in our difficult, anxious times today, we wrote ” What we do know is that our motto at Calvary Moravian ends with Live God’s Love. Let’s see how we can do this now.” Let’s see how we can keep doing this….
In June (through August) we held outdoor worship services, went back to in-person worship (limited numbers, w/ masks) in September but as of Nov. 15, 2020 we returned to all virtual worship (Zoom/Youtube). A whirlwind of logistics, technology and communication. And now after a year , we return to in-person worship on May 2nd. But we are keeping the ways of connecting virtually too with our Facebook Livestreaming. Here is a page for a weekly bulletins and other updates for Calvary!
Last March – we asked – Who’s this site for? Our community of Calvary Moravian church, now disconnected by our physical church closures. Our greater community in Allentown, trying to find itself in a strange and uncertain time. Anyone in this world, affected by suffering and illness, disconnections and isolation, and fear.
How do we Live God’s Love in this time?
.It’s an ongoing conversation.
